Privacy Policy

This page explains what information Email Migration Tool ("the tool", "we", "this site") handles when you use it, and why. If anything here is unclear, contact us at info@emailmigrationtool.com.
Your email credentials
To migrate your mail, the tool needs the login details for your old and new email servers. Those details are used only to open a connection to those servers on your behalf, are kept only in your browser's session for as long as the migration is running, and are never written to a database, log file, or backup. They are cleared automatically the moment a migration finishes, is cancelled, or your session expires.
Information we collect automatically
We keep two simple, anonymous usage counters: a running total of messages successfully migrated across all users, and a count of visits to this page today. Neither is tied to your name, email address, or IP address, and neither is used to identify you individually. Standard web server logs (such as those kept by our hosting provider) may record IP addresses and request details for security and troubleshooting purposes, consistent with normal hosting practice.
Cookies
This site uses a small number of cookies:
- Session cookie — required for the tool to function; keeps your in-progress migration and a security (CSRF) token tied to your browser session.
- Daily visit cookie — a non-identifying cookie used only to avoid counting the same browser twice in the "visitors today" figure. It expires at midnight.
This site does not currently display third-party advertising. If that changes in the future — for example, by adding Google AdSense — this policy will be updated to reflect it, and advertising partners such as Google may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You would be able to control ad personalization at Google Ads Settings, and learn more about how Google uses data at Google's Partner Sites policy.
Data security
Connections between this tool and your mail servers use SSL/TLS where your mail provider supports it. We recommend only ever using this tool over an HTTPS connection (look for the padlock in your browser) and avoiding public or untrusted networks when entering real email passwords.
Third parties
To perform a migration, the tool connects directly to the email servers you specify — those providers have their own privacy policies governing your account and data, independent of this site. This site is hosted on shared web hosting infrastructure, which may process standard connection logs as part of normal service delivery.
Children's privacy
This tool is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 13.
Your rights
Because we don't store your email credentials or any personally identifying account data, there is generally nothing tied to you to access, export, or delete. If you have questions about the anonymous usage counters described above, or any other privacy question, contact us at info@emailmigrationtool.com.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the tool changes — for example, if advertising or new features are added. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision.
